Today in School

Today in school we had our health talks. The boys learned about the boys. The girls learned about the girls. We had our normal switches. I got all my homework done in class. I recited three of my poems for Mrs. Mohrbacher. Tonight I am going to finish my ceramics project for fair. I'm making a big dog. It looks like my dog Chief. He is a yellow lab.

Dentist appointment

Today I went to the dentist. I had no cavities! That is a relief. I got back to school just in time for language. All I missed was math and 1st recess. I picked a pass from Madison at recess. That was cool. We had music today. My team won the game we played. Tonight I went to John's to practice clipping again. Jackie was kind of funky tonight. I had a hard time working with her. We brought Aubry in to the barn to give her a shot to bring her in heat. I sure hope we can get her bred back. I probably won't be able to take her to county fair now. I'll still get to take Dottie, though.

3 new Holsteins

Last night we bought 3 new Holsteins. There names are Mistic, Udderly (dumb name) and Lucy. Mistic is a December calf. Udderly is a baby March calf and Lucy is an October calf. I think we should think of something else to call Udderly. Grandpa put them in both my name and Nikki's name. Mistic is my favorite. I picked her out. Mistic and Lucy are mostly black and Udderly is mostly white. We might take them to the district show on June 9th. My mom said it's a good thing she doesn't have to work on that day now. The district show is in West Salem.

Nice weather...finally

Guess what? I got picked to be a Safety Patrol this week! I got to shadow Ben A. and Morgan N. and then do their duties on Friday. That was awesome! Mr. Stoeckly was gone for two days. We really missed him. Friday night I played outside all night. It was so nice out. I raced my friends bike. I won the race. This morning I had to do my homework. Later today I'm going to John's to practice clipping. I haven't been there for a long time. After that my mom and I are going to the Vernon County Holstein sale. I hope we can find a cheap calf. I really want a Holstein calf. I'd like to have a Brown Swiss calf, too. My Grandpa thinks I'm crazy. My mom says a good calf is a good calf, regardless of the color. I agree with her. Tomorrow we're going out to my Grandparents house. I'm going to clip CJ. She is the December calf we bought at the State Jersey Sale. She wasn't body clipped because the weather was so cold. So I need to do that. We also need to wash Lola and Satin. Hopefully tomorrow will be warm enough. 3 Weeks of School Left! I can't wait until summer!

Being In School

Today we had math. Our homework was 15 problems. In language we had our Cinquain poems. We also have our Wisconsin poems to memorize. In Science everybody did their presentations except for our group. We will do ours tomorrow. In PE we got to pick between frisby golf, ygolf, bean bag toss and horseshoes. I picked frisby golf. Leah S. was my partener. We went to the computer lab today to work on our blogs for 20 minutes.

Why my mom is special-extra credit

My mom is special because she takes good care of me. She is always helpful to me and helps me with homework. She takes me to work with my calves at John's and Grandpa's. She teaches me how to show calves. She encourages me to do the best job I can do. She let me go to the sale in Maryland. She lets me go to all the shows. She said I can maybe take my heifer to Louisville if she does good enough this summer. She also encourages me to play hockey. She lets me go to hockey camps. Last year, she let me play Blue Devils. She drives me everywhere for tournaments and games. I love my mom because she cares about me. For Mothers Day, I picked her some tulips from grandma's flower bed. I gave her the clay pocket I made in art. I got her card with pansys on it for Mothers Day. Most of all she is the best mom because she has me!! My mom is the best mom in the world!!

Weekend at my dads

This weekend was fantastic. My dad and I went shopping for Mothers Day. My dad got me a new pair of shoes. They are awesome. They are Under Armor. We went to the movies Speed Racer. It was kind of dumb. I played with my friend Tanner. We played football and baseball. Tanner lives across the street from my dad. We met my mom at 1:o0 to come home. Then we went to my grandparents house. Mom made me stay in the house to finish my homework before I could go out to the barn. I finally got to go out to the barn about 5:30. I helped my mom measure the calves again. They are all growing pretty good. I picked some tulips and a pansy for my mom. I also gave her the clay pocket I made in art. Uncle Jeremy drove in and got pizza from Pizza Hut for supper. It was a good day.

Fun Run

Today we had our health fair and we had to answer 20 questions. It was fun. We also had a fun run. We had to run a mile and a half. I finished 95th out of all the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th graders. I was happy with that. We also worked on our presentations for science. Our group is going well. I work with Anthony, Paul and Wyatt. I'm can't wait to go to the farm tomorrow. It will be a lot of fun.

Brat Sale

Today the Jr. Dairy Club is having a brat sale in Tomah. This is the last thing I have to do to be able to sell a basket at the fair. Now all I have to do is do good enough in showmanship there. It will be fun. Yesterday I worked on clipping. I clipped Vanity. The dehorner showed up while we were there and I had to stop and help dehorn some calves. Today I'm going to ride horses after the brat sale. I also have to do some work at Grandpa's with the calves out there. I think it would be easier if we lived where all my calves lived and I could just do the work everyday instead of going out to do lots of work once in a while.

Rainy Saturday

This week we had 3rd graders come to our class. It was fun. I was going to do the junior olympics but it was cancelled because of the weather. I'm going to John's today start working on learning to clip. I can't wait. My grandpa is getting his old clippers working for me. I have one pair ready to start with today. Last night I went out to their house to take care of my new calves. It stormed really bad while we were out there. We also went to TSC in Tomah to get more grain. My heifers are doing really well. Grandpa ordered some stuff called Fast Track and we started feeding that last night. He said it is a microbial thing that puts good bugs in their stomachs. I hope it makes them grow more.
